mother and son

yesterday i had yet another visit to kings college. i made my way to the cardiac suite to be fitted with a 7 day holter monitor. three wires are attached to my chest, a little box clips to my jeans and when i get a palpation i press a button, then write down what i was doing.

this would of been a good idea two years ago when my heart rate was exceeding 160bpm doing normal everyday stuff standing, my heart would flip, flip, flip over. now because im sitting for most of the day i dont get many palps, although i still get some. never mind i shall not complain, do as im told.

afterwards we went to dulwich park, had a tea and some lunch, unfortunately the rain came down. archie came with us yesterday too, as my sister came to park the car due to the dreadful parking situation at the hospital. the dogs seem not to care about the rain.

Hi Em,

It is good the way you balance things. The trip to KC must have been stressful so the relaxing outing afterwards must have acted as a counterweight. Good on you.

I hope this latest little device gives the docs some positive answers. It does seem strange that they are doing it now. Did they ask you to try sitting up more to see how that effects things? I just worry sometimes that they want results in front of them to work with without giving much regard for what the patient has to put up with to get it.

Take care,

Nechtan

Hi Em,

I wanted to tell you that I'm SO glad you stopped by my blog and left a comment! I'm really excited to 'meet' you, though I'm really sorry it is under these circumstances. I truly hate to hear that you are suffering from POTS, too. I do not understand why the doctors do the things they do sometimes, but I just have to continue to hope and pray they are doing what is best for me.

I am now following you, too, and I will definitely be back to read more of your blog soon.

In the meantime, I hope you have a 'good' day.

Blessings,

Teresa <><

hi nechtan

i didnt think of the day like that, a bit of yin and yang.

i can sit up for around two to three hours now, although i get a pain in the neck and blurred vision i sometimes tolerate this so i can do stuff. its the standing that affects me more so i have pushed myself a little more, standing for five minutes or so. that should give them some readings to mull over. i also have to write down what i was doing when i push the button to record the palps.

thanks em.x
