perfect afternoon

one of my favourite local places is mh. i expect you all know this by now the way i rave on about it. its a national trust garden, with plenty of wildlife, pretty buildings and bridge, and lots of history.

so what better day to go than today. yesterday i rested up, nausea was low yesterday because of the boring-ness of the day. i have choices in life. do i stay in, laying flat all day with less symptoms than normal, or do i remain up-right for a few hours and experience crap symptoms? mmmmmm. i went out today.

we arrived around 11.30am, just as i opened the car door, we were greeted by y, a friendly artist that has her studio in the grounds. y, makes you feel cheerful, uplifted, happy. after a walk around the park, past the above picture, we must of spoke to four or five people enjoying the sun. dogs seem to attract comments, so rosy laps up the attention.

having a headache on waking i knew that a good strong dose of tea may help with the pain. however i think the world and his wife was out to bask in the sunshine today, we shared a table in the cafe with a lady who i have met before with a pretty little jack russell called snowy. then y, came to join us, followed by another lady with a gorgeous dog who i made a doggie coat for in the winter. the gardener popped over to say hello. after an hour my eyes started to blur, headached, neck was oh so painful, nausea came back, but hey i wasnt about to pace myself and go sit in the car.

three hours had passed, a cheese and pickle sandwich had been eaten, my arms had gone slightly red in the sun, tea was drunk, dogs were so good sitting in the shade, we all said our goodbyes, till next time, home was calling.

days like these make living with this illness worth while. interesting conversations, pasts discussed, amazing, sad, stories told. even if now im knackered, unwell, at least i had a good afternoon.
