scan - done

all over. the hospital was empty, got there ten minutes early, feeling pretty dreadful. went straight in, they fiddled with my arms, they couldnt get a vein. very painful, i just screwed my fist.

so they done the first half, which seemed like ages, lots of banging, eye plugs in. i asked if i could close my eyes before i went in the machine. yes i could. when i entered the room, i took a quick glance of the machine. i just had to think of other things, the thought of being in that little space.... anyway, i would recommend shutting your eyes, i was ok. i tried to think of other things, being on a beach, the dartford tunnel!!! it worked. i was pulled out, again prodded with needles, eventually a nurse injected the liquid into me, thank goodness otherwise i was going to have to come back, something that i didnt want to do. back in again, more noise. out i came, slowly sat up. finished. wheeled back to the car in the sunshine.

stopped off on the way home at starbucks, sat in car and drank a medium sized tea, and half a cookie.

now im tired, exhausted. more later.

Well done you amazing lady. Few people would have been feeling comfortable in that situation. Just the thought of it makes me go queasy. You deserve a whole packet of cookies for that and I'm sending a great big hug too.

I'm glad it's over with and you have come through such a trying experience so well. Good for you. The visualization was a great idea. Hope you ate the other half a cookie also :-)

Hope you are suitably proud of yourself. I was surprised how noisy it was and someone only tells me Ihave to be still that my nose immediately itches! I am terrible at visualisation so just have to think nice things. Well done.

Hi Alice,

Well done. It sounds like you grow stronger and more confident every time. That is no easy thing to do and despite all my progress of late it is not something I can do yet. I'm glad its over and that you coped so well.

All the best

hi nechtan

thanks, goes to show what the power of your mind can do. i did prepare myself some, i thought dont look at the machine, and asking whether i could close my eyes was the best decision.

i couldnt believe afterwards that i actually did it. xxx
